Table design and production for Vie Beauty's activation at Essence Festival — the largest celebration of Black culture in America — staged around the brand's 30ROSES rose water.
The challenge
Essence Festival is the most crowded room a beauty brand will ever stand in. Hundreds of activations compete for the same attention across a single weekend in New Orleans, and most of them look like a folding table with a banner behind it. Vie Beauty needed a footprint that could hold its own against national budgets — and that could carry the story of 30ROSES, a rose water distilled from thirty gardens, rather than just display the bottle.
Our approach
We designed the table as a garden rather than a booth. The activation was built around The Beauty Vault, a staged reveal that gave visitors a reason to stop, wait, and be let in — turning foot traffic into a queue and a queue into an audience. Every surface, sightline and load-in sequence was designed against the same idea: that a product born from thirty gardens should be discovered, not handed out. We ran table design and production end to end, on site, through load-in.
The outcome
The activation drew Teyana Taylor, Cardi B, Brandon Blackwood and Malinda Williams to the table across the festival weekend — the kind of organic celebrity traffic that activations of this size are built to earn and rarely do. The work was documented as a three-part series across the studio's channels under #30GARDENS.
